President Bola Tinubu has announced portfolios for the five executive directors of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) on the board.
Segun Imohiosen, the spokesperson of the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, announced the development in a statement in Abuja on Friday, September 15, 2025.

President Tinubu called on the new appointees, who were executive directors, to work closely with the commission’s governing board for the coordination and promotion of sustainable development in the North-Central geopolitical zone.

List of NCDC directors with new portfolios
Vanguard, in a report, listed the names of the appointees and their portfolios. Below is the list of the appointees and their portfolios:

Earlier in 2025, President Tinubu reportedly signed the bill establishing the North Central Development Commission into law.
Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate, announced the development during plenary on Tuesday, February 4. At the time, he added that the president also signed the bill establishing the Federal Polytechnic in the Rano area of Kano state and the Federal University of Health Sciences in Tsafe, Zamfara State.
Why Tinubu signed North Central bill
The Senate president noted that Tinubu signed the bill to bring development to the people at the grassroots. He congratulated the people of the North Central and wished them more development and peace.

Before this, there had been agitation for the president to sign the North-Central Commission bill into law. The signing of the bill into law is expected to strengthen the economy and infrastructure development of the geopolitical zone.
However, the Senate president did not disclose the date Tinubu signed the bill, but his announcement followed the day the president signed the bill establishing a federal university of environmental technology in Ogoni, Rivers State.
Since he resumed the office of power, Tinubu has established development commissions for the six regions of the country and scrapped the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for fairness and justice.

Atiku criticises Tinubu’s economic policies
Legit.ng earlier reported that President Bola Tinubu was again dragged by the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over the state of the nation.
Atiku, in a statement through his spokesperson, Paul Ibe, said the president’s reforms have not been working for the country and questioned his ability to bring about the desired change in Nigeria.
