
Dr. Mohammed Egye Osolafia, Senior Special Assistant to Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule on Humanitarian Affairs, has been released following his abduction.
Popularly known as Deedat, Osolafia was seized by unidentified gunmen from his residence in the Tudun Amba area of Lafia on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
He regained his freedom on Sunday night, less than 24 hours after the kidnapping. It remains unclear whether a ransom was paid to secure his release.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the circumstances of his freedom or the identities of the abductors.
However, security agencies are said to have ramped up efforts to apprehend those responsible for the attack.
