APC inaugurates 1,800-member campaign council for Anambra guber

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated a
1,800-man campaign council ahead of the November 8 governorship election in
Anambra.

Nentawe Yilwatda, national chairman of the party, said
during the inauguration in Awka on Tuesday that the APC has what it takes to
defeat Chukwuma Soludo, the incumbent governor.

Yilwatda was represented by Ijeoma Arodiogbu, south-east
vice-chairman of the party.

He said the APC will deploy all its resources to legally
unseat Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

“Anambra is very dear to the APC national leadership. We
have selected all of you because we believe that you can do the job,” he said.

“We are going for nothing but victory, and for us to achieve
it you have to double your efforts.

“I assure you that the south-east APC, Hope Uzodimma, our
national leadership and President Bola Tinubu are all behind you.

“Therefore, when you add up all these, you will agree with
me that victory is assured come November 8.”

He added that other campaign structures will be inaugurated,
including senatorial, local government, ward and polling unit teams.

He urged the council and party members to work hard to
ensure the APC’s victory.

Nicholas Ukachukwu, the APC governorship candidate, appealed
for support from party faithful and residents of the state.

Ukachukwu said he would provide a secure environment to
enhance the business climate in the state if elected.

He promised to establish a gas power plant in Anambra to harness
abundant gas resources for industrial development.

The candidate also pledged to transform the agricultural
value chain with insurance policies to promote mechanised farming.

Dozie Ikedife, director-general of the campaign council,
pledged on behalf of members, to deliver Ukachukwu as governor and Uche
Ekwunife as deputy governor.
