You don’t want to look like a job hopper, do you? Here’s how to present your progression with the firm the right way.
From Paycheck to Purpose
If you’re someone who’s had multiple roles with the same firm, here’s what you do. I’m Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter. People hire me for nos job search coaching and career advice globally because I make the process of finding work and succeeding at it much easier.
What you do is: Company name, flush left, flush right, the aggregate dates. Follow all the dates, the total dates. Let’s say you started in 2017 to present. Underneath the company name, the most recent title, and flush right, the dates that you held that position. And underneath it, you list your role and responsibilities, just like you would with any other job description.
Underneath that, you put in the previous title, flush left, flush right, the dates that you held that role. And underneath it, role and responsibilities and all the other stuff you would put in. What you’re doing is showing a career progression with one organization, and thus demonstrating to people what you did, how long you did it, and such.
